Mothership Month, UFO Cargo Cult

The 5th prompt is UFO cargo cult. UFO's are in the zeitgeist right now with the US government releasing more documents on UFO's and congressional hearings regarding them. In the immortal words of the X-Files "The Truth is Out There."

This briefing is on the Hypoxia incident and seizure of an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO). The UFO has since been moved to Blacksite _____ f f for further study

HYPOXIA

Hypoxia is a small desolate little colony, at the edge of the powers in charge. Its population consisted of 400 colonists and the base itself consisted of a prebuilt freighter converted to a colony. Hypoxia is a Pluto like planet, a small rocky body with nitrogen ice and scattered ice volcanoes, with only a measly 0.5g, no real magnetosphere and a thin nitrogen and carbon monoxide atmosphere. The only reason it was originally chosen was because it was a planet at the edge of the powers that be. Far enough away to not be pressured, but close enough to still get help.

DISCOVERY

On the 3^rd year of the colony’s existence an anomaly appeared, something buried in the northern polar ice, undetectable by LIDAR, RADAR and even SONAR, only the human eye could see it. Even cameras had trouble detecting it. The finder a Mr. John Smith, entered the craft. After 3 days he came back out, preaching salvation and prosperity for all inhabitants.

THE UFO

A 100-meter-long cylinder, a mere 4 meters in diameter and made of an unknown material. With two small towers on top reaching only 3 meters. With only one entrance on the left side leading to a spherical room, said room consisting of smooth walls and unknown writing. Any exploration to get further onto the ship has been unsuccessful.

THE CULT

The cult of the Eye of Orions Belt formed 3 days, 18 hours, 22 minutes and 33 seconds after discovery of the vessel. John Smith, the leader and prophet of the group performed a violent and rapid takeover of the colony. Any who defied him or his followers were executed, with their bodies dumped into a mass icy grave. At the end of his takeover only 50 people remained. The UFO was moved to the inside of the freighter where shrines were constructed around it. John Smith started preaching from the top UFO to his flock, he preached of the end times coming, outsiders seeking to destroy all that they had built and how the vessel promised salvation. Through an unknown means John Smith shaved off material from the vessel, added it to leftover Old Terran Whisky, and him and his followers drank it. After they drank it; all security footage was erased via unknown means and the colonies automated SOS beacon deployed. After the beacon deployed a team consisting of _____ and          as well as       was charged with making contact with the colony.
