Player Jobs: Infocourier

 Infocourier

Large amounts of data take time to transfer, with secure data those long transfer times can make it easier to be intercepted. In the event of data that needs to get to a location ASAP then the time necessary to do a traditional transfer is also unacceptable. With these parameters here comes in the Infocouriers. With Infocouriers all the data is cloned into a drive in the couriers body. Which then the courier transfers it to the specified location.

The Implant

In each courier a hard drive is implanted into their abdominopelvic cavity. Covered in carbon nanotubes, Kevlar and aerogel to make it bulletproof and shockproof. While a thin layer of silicone makes it body safe. Some jobs simply require the drive to be programmed with the specific data needing to be transferred. Other jobs require a whole new drive to be surgically implanted.

The Jobs

All jobs requiring an Infocourier are dangerous, material on the drives range from corporate espionage reports to government black ops info. The danger is high but, the pay, the pay is lucrative to say the least. On the low end for simple jobs pay ten thousand credits, while the higher end more lethal jobs can have payouts in the millions. All the jobs the a Infocourier picks up are a don’t ask don’t tell in regards to what is in the drive. A Courier blabbing about what's on the drive defeats the purpose after all.

Job Example

TerraCo has committed corporate espionage against a rival Megacorp. The data they have gotten is worth several billion credits to the right buyer so safe arrival of the data is key. The players would pick up the job with a payout of a million credits when it gets to the safe location. However, the rival Corp knows about the espionage and has sent corporate security teams to hunt the PC's down.
