Secret Jackalope 2022 Mk 2: Sci Fi Meets Fantasy

For the second Secret Jackalope I got the prompt “A high tech spaceship crashes in a high fantasy world. What interesting stuff results? (ArchonNyx#2280)”. So here are 3 scenarios

Scenario 1: That’s No Moon

The first scenario involves a moon sized spaceship crashing onto said world. As it hits the entire world is destroyed. Nothing survives and the world is forever changed. However, as the next set of life evolves on this world they would find artifacts from a bygone era, that of where the native previous civilization made it too. So armor, swords, jewelry, etc. 

While the fantasy world inhabitants left behind their artifacts, so did the spaceship. Computers, railguns, healing equipment and so on. In this post apocalyptic world these artifacts are given high regard, some even worshiped.

An example is the Holy Sphere, a large ball bearing manufactured out of starship grade titanium and engineered to a perfect degree to be perfectly spherical. 

Scenario 2: Grey Goo

“It is the 3rd year of the Terran Machine War, giant fleets and armies battle it out. The Machines want Mankind's extinction so they can survive to the end of the universe. Humanity wants to survive. Massive fleets fight, C Beams glitter over FTL Gates, machine and man fight to extinction.” 

During the battle of Tau Ceti a heavily damaged Machine battleship performed an emergency jump to escape appearing over the Forgotten Realms and crash landing. When machines met the inhabitants of the land which included humans they operated on orders to exterminate all life. Thus began the War of the Iron Realms.

In this scenario PC’s are trying to survive a relentless and brutal enemy. One who knows no fear and needs no rest. For this game lean into survival horror. To add onto this scenario, later a Terran Ship appears in the Realm. And they must now help the inhabitants fight off the Machines. 

Scenario 3: For Want of a Nail

A Spaceship crashes in the realms and 2 kingdoms are at war. The first Kingdom is the Kingdom of the Dragon while the other is the Kingdom of the Lion. They have been at war for 2 generations and it has been a stalemate. During a lull in the war a Spaceship crashes in the Kingdom of the Lion and the Kings men capture it.

The ship is mostly trashed but the Nanoprinters to make Power Armor and Laser Rifles still work. The Lions men are quickly armed and outfitted and they win said war. Years pass until a corporate auditor appears overhead and charges the Kingdom of the Lion to pay the licensing fee for the weapons and armor or face said corporations litigation.

Now You, a lowly adventurer, must help the Kingdom pay off its debt.
